Documentation Update: Successfully Using and Integrating S3 Storage

S3 Storage: Successfully Using and Integrating
#

At the request of our customers, we have made a comprehensive update to our documentation today: https://docs.planetary-quantum.com/multi-node/s3-object-storage/

The documentation contains first steps for using S3 storage, as well as an example setup to integrate the storage on your own domain (with TLS/SSL) into your projects.

Information about pricing can be found here: Object Storage

In principle, you can use S3 storage to offload data from your applications to an external (fully redundant) storage cluster.

The interface corresponds to that of Amazon’s S3 service. This makes the storage not only scalable across cluster boundaries and fault-tolerant, but you also avoid potential vendor lock-in, since the interface protocol has established itself nationally and internationally with many providers (Amazon, Scaleway, OVH, DigitalOcean, …).

Furthermore, there is always the option to either complement or replace our storage with on-premise solutions (e.g., Minio, etc.).

As always, we welcome feedback and suggestions for further features. Please reach out to us.

Our object storage is operated by our sister company Planetary Networks GmbH and is accordingly hosted in a Berlin data center. This means it is subject (as usual with us) to all German data protection regulations.
