Platform Updates: 2025 in Review

As we close out 2025, we want to share a summary of the platform updates and improvements we’ve shipped this year. Thank you to all our customers for your continued trust and feedback.

Multi-Cloud: OVH Integration
#

We’re excited to announce that Planetary Quantum now supports running on OVH infrastructure. This multi-cloud capability opens up a wide range of new regions for our customers:

  • Europe: Frankfurt, France, Poland, Italy, and the UK
  • North America: Canada and USA
  • Asia-Pacific: Australia, Singapore, and India

This expansion allows customers to choose the region that best fits their latency, compliance, and data residency requirements.

Quantum Monitoring Platform (QMP)
#

  • Grafana Alloy (October): We rolled out a new and improved monitoring stack components. It replaces grafana/agent, promtail, and docker log driver with the unified Grafana Alloy. This provides a single agent for metrics collection and log aggregation. The objective was to update to tooling and to improve resource usage and performance.
  • Multi-Cloud Metrics (April): Extended our monitoring infrastructure to support logs and metrics across all supported cloud providers.

Infrastructure
#

  • cgroups v2 Migration (October): Migrated all customer infrastructure from cgroups v1 to v2, ensuring compatibility with modern container runtimes
  • Nebraska for Flatcar Updates (October): Deployed an internal Nebraska for better management of Flatcar Linux updates across our fleet
  • CentOS 7 End of Life (April): Completed migration of all remaining CentOS 7 nodes to Flatcar Linux

Quantum Console
#

We performed various updates to the underlying Portainer installation, including:

  • Registry Management (March): Regular users can now manage registry credentials directly through our “Quantum Platform” app
  • Volume Visibility (March): Improved volume visibility and ownership handling for stacks
  • Web Shell Timeout (April): Improved timeout issues/reliability with web shell console sessions
